THAT'S PART OF OUR MASTER PLAN FOR TRAILS.
SO JUST FOREWARNING, IF THERE'S ANY CONCERN ABOUT THIS AREA, THERE MAY BE FURTHER DEVIATION NEEDED.
HOWEVER, IT'S STILL GOING TO BE MEETING THE INTENT OF THE LANDSCAPE CODE AND IMPROVING UPON THE EXISTING CONDITIONS, AS WELL AS ADDING ADDITIONAL WIDTH FOR ACCESSIBILITY ALONG THAT TRAIL OR SIDEWALK.

IT'S ABOUT NINE FEET OFF OF THE REQUIREMENT OF 25FT, AND AS I MENTIONED, THAT MAY BE FURTHER REDUCED DEPENDING ON THAT TRAIL, AND AS YOU SAID, MAYOR, IF THERE'S ADDITIONAL RIGHT OF WAY NEEDED.
SO AS I MENTIONED, THIS IS A PLAN AND PLAT AT PRELIMINARY STAGE, AND REALLY THE ONLY THING THAT WOULD BE EDITED ON THIS IMAGE HERE WOULD BE LIMITS OF NO ACCESS PROVIDED ALONG SANTA FE TRAIL DRIVE, AS YOU'RE FAMILIAR WITH THAT.

WE ALSO, BY DESIGN, DID RELOCATE ALL THE ENTRANCES AND EXITS TO THE FACILITY TO BE OFF LONG STREET.
THAT IS ALSO TO MAKE SURE THAT WE COULD GET ALL VEHICLES OFF THE MAIN ROADS, AND THEN ALSO A LITTLE BIT OF SECURITY THAT WE DIDN'T WANT TO JUST HAVE OPEN ACCESS TO THE PARKING LOT OFF OF SANTA FE TRAIL.

25D IS A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THE INTENT OF THE CITY TO ISSUE APPROXIMATELY $40 MILLION IN IRBS TO HELP ACQUIRE, CONSTRUCT AND EQUIP THE RENNER 95 MIXED USE PROJECT, AND FINALLY, 25E IS AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT GRANT AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT GRANT AGREEMENT WITH RENNER ASSOCIATES, LLC.

ABOUT JUST UNDER A YEAR AGO, THE PROPERTY WAS REZONED FROM OFFICE TO MIXED USE RESIDENTIAL TO ALLOW FOR THE REDEVELOPMENT OF THE FIVE STORY OFFICE INTO APPROXIMATELY 74 UNITS OF MULTIFAMILY, AS WELL AS 22,000FT² OF GROUND FLOOR RETAIL AND COMMERCIAL IN THE ORIGINAL BUILDING, AND THEY ALSO PROPOSED TO BUILD 239 RESIDENTIAL UNITS JUST TO THE WEST OF THE CURRENT BUILDING.

I MADE THE MOTION TO MOVE THAT FORWARD, EVEN THOUGH MY WARD WAS OPPOSED TO THAT IN MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF DOLLARS LATER IN SALES TAX AND SERVICE TO OUR COMMUNITY AND THE IMPACT COVID OR COSTCO HAD ON US DURING COVID, AND IF YOU TALK TO THE NEIGHBORS TODAY THAT ARE STILL LIVING THERE, THEY WILL TELL YOU THE BERM, THE TREE, THE RECONFIGURATION, THE TRAFFIC CHANGE THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD FROM A BIG PARKING LOT WITH ALL THE NOISE OF I-35 COMING ACROSS TO A QUIET NEIGHBORHOOD THAT HAPPENED TO BE NEXT TO A LARGE RETAILER ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HILL ON THE BERM, AND MY GOAL HAS ALWAYS BEEN TO DO THE RIGHT THING FOR LENEXA, REGARDLESS OF IF THAT TICKED OFF AN IMMEDIATE NEIGHBOR OR WHATNOT, AND WE'VE BEEN BLESSED OVER THE YEARS THAT WE HAVE OUR NIMBYS WHEN IT'S THEIR TURN BUT WE HAVEN'T HAD A MOVEMENT ACROSS THE CITY, WHICH IN MY MIND, YOU'RE ALL MOVING HERE FOR GOOD REASONS.
